Bookapalooza 2026
The Boulder City Library is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Boulder City Library Kids Bookapalooza. We’re planning the big event for Saturday, October 24th, 2026 from 10 AM to 2 PM.
Stay tuned for more information about the event as the date gets closer!
Please note that space is limited and that submitting an application does not guarantee a place at the fair. Applications will close on August 28th @ 5PM. We will be contacting the chosen around the middle of September 2026.
Criteria for selection:
- priority will be given to authors & artists in Southern Nevada.
- publication quality: all items must be edited and published. We will accept both traditionally published and self-published applications.
- local interest.
- artistic merit.
As Bookapalooza’s main goal is to promote the artistic talents of the community, works that use generative AI will not be considered.
How will this event be promoted?
We will advertise the event via the Library’s social media accounts, on the Library website, through in-house marking materials (flyers, posters, e-newsletter) and using traditional media sources (i.e., newspapers and community newsletters.) Authors & artists are also strongly encouraged to promote the event through any networks or media outlets available to them. A digital flyer and social media assets will be provided.
Day of the Event:
- The Library will provide each author/artists with table space and a chair. Please note that tables will be shared.
- The Library cannot accommodate banners, posters, or other wall/ceiling hangings. Display space is limited to the table surface.
- Authors/artists must attend the event and be responsible for their own displays: including any money, cash boxes, products, or any other items they wish to use.
- The Library is not responsible for collecting payments on behalf of the authors/artists. We are not able to provide change, cash boxes, or credit card readers. If you choose to accept electronic payments, your unit must operate wirelessly, and its setup and configuration are your responsibility. The Library has publicly accessible Wi-Fi. The Library can not provide technical support.
- The State of Nevada requires the Library to collect sales tax. A form must be filled out and sales tax remitted at the end of the event. The form is required even if an author/artist makes no sales.
- Authors/Artists are required to check in and out with staff and must stay for the whole event.
- Authors/artists are responsible for supplying their items for sale.
- You must be willing and legally able to sell your items at the event.
- The Library is not responsible for items left unattended during the event.
- Chosen authors/artists must provide the Library with headshot within one week of notification. You agree to allow the Library to use these images as free promotional materials for the event.
- The event may be photographed and/or videotaped for Library promotional purposes.
- The Library will not reimburse authors/artists for travel or expenses. The Library will not pay authors/artists for participation.
