The Boulder City Library is excited to announce our 2nd Annual Boulder City Library Literary Arts Fair. We’re planning the big event for Saturday, April 5, 2025 from 1PM to 5PM. We’re thrilled to be able to once again provide the venue for the community to discover our local literary creators.
Stay tuned for more information about the event as the date gets closer including artist lineup and talks schedule.
Applications to be a participant in the fair will open on November 1st. Please note that space is limited; submitting an application does not guarantee a place at the fair and we’re looking to create a lineup of returning and new artists. This event will be focused on adult authors as we are planning one for children's authors later in 2025. We will be contacting the chosen participants around the middle of January 2025.
Criteria for selection:
- priority will be given to literary artists in Southern Nevada.
- publication quality: all items must be edited and published. We will accept both traditionally published and self-published applications.
- local interest.
- artistic merit.
How will this event be promoted?
We will advertise the event via the Library’s social media accounts, on the Library website, through in-house marketing materials (flyers, posters, e-newsletter) and using traditional media sources (i.e., newspapers and community newsletters.) Literary Artists are also strongly encouraged to promote the event through any networks or media outlets available to them. A digital flyer and social media assets will be provided.
Day of the Event:
- The Library will provide each author with table space and a chair. Please note that tables will be shared.
- The Library cannot accommodate banners, posters, or other wall/ceiling hangings. Display space is limited to the table surface.
- Authors must attend the event and be responsible for their own displays: including any money, cash boxes, products, or any other items they wish to use.
- The Library is not responsible for collecting payments on behalf of the authors. We are not able to provide change, cash boxes, or credit card readers. If you choose to accept electronic payments, your unit must operate wirelessly, and its setup and configuration are your responsibility. The Library has publicly accessible Wi-Fi. The Library can not provide technical support.
- Authors are responsible for supplying their items for sale.
- You must be willing and legally able to sell your items at the event.
- The Library is not responsible for items left unattended during the event.
- Chosen participants must provide the Library with headshot within one week of notification. You agree to allow the Library to use these images as free promotional materials for the event.
- The event may be photographed and/or videotaped for Library promotional purposes.
- The Library will not reimburse authors for travel or expenses. The Library will not pay authors for participation.
